Depending on the type of electrolysis process used – electrolyser equipment is subjected to severe acidic conditions (PEM) and alkaline conditions (AWE, AEM) which makes it prone to heavy corrosion. This can be mitigated by use of PEC’s specially developed coatings. Our portfolio for the hydrogen industry also includes functional surface finishing and metallization solutions using our state-of-the-art electrolytic nickel, electroless nickel, gold and platinum and iridium plating processes, as well as electro(-less) plated catalyst development on turnkey basis.

Our scientists are also involved in the research of an industry first – novel battery chemistry.
